Meet Dr. Jenny Folsom
Jenny Folsom has deep roots in Cullman. She was born and raised here, graduated from Cullman High School, and spent her career in education as both a teacher and administrator. She holds degrees from Auburn University, UAB, and the University of Alabama, and spent over 20 years at Wallace State Community College, where she served as Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs. Her life has been guided by a commitment to serve others—with kindness, integrity, and a deep love for her hometown.
Jenny has served several terms on the Cullman City Council and has been appointed by her fellow council members as President since 2018. She chairs the Council’s General Government Committee, overseeing finance, economic development, and human resources. Throughout her time in office, Jenny has been a calm, consistent leader who works hard behind the scenes to make sure Cullman remains one of the best places in Alabama to live and raise a family.
Jenny’s leadership has played a key role in a number of community improvements. These include:
Widening AL Hwy 157 to ease traffic flow
Constructing a new civic center
Securing modern equipment for the police and fire departments
Renovating neighborhood parks to be more inclusive for children of all ages and abilities
Supporting Cullman’s 10-year, $600,000 annual investment in city schools—without raising taxes
Helping Cullman reach the lowest unemployment rate in its history, with over $1 billion in local industry investment
Prioritizing future infrastructure upgrades, including the widening of the St. Bernard Bridge and the construction of a new community arts facility
Jenny leads with transparency, listens with compassion, and brings years of proven success to the table. She’s not just running for office—she’s running to keep working hard for the people of Cullman.
“It is a privilege to serve my community. I believe my track record speaks for itself. Cullman deserves leadership that knows the job and is ready to keep delivering. I will listen to the concerns of all community members while continuing to lead with transparency and honesty.”
